Lilium brownii bulb – Bai he (+)
The Lily bulb is typically grown in the Chinese provinces of Hunan and Zhejiang, where it is harvested in autumn, boiled and then dried in the sun. One of the oldest known cultivated plants, it is used in Chinese treatments to maintain a healthy respiratory system. It can also help maintain a healthy sleep cycle.*
Triticum aestivum fruit – Fu xiao mai (+)
Bread wheat is one of the oldest human food crops, but it can also be used in herbal remedies. Fu xiao mai is derived from the sprouting wheat seeds which are harvested and dried in the sun. It can be used to maintain normal blood sugar levels and to maintain a calm mind.*
Ziziphus jujube fruit – Da zao (+)
Dao zao is a small red fruit, which grows on the Ziziphus jujuba, or Chinese date tree. In China, these are generally grown in the warmer provinces of Shandong and Henan. The fruits are picked in autumn, and used whilst they are still ripe. In ancient Chinese remedies they are used to help support the Spleen and Stomach. They can also help to maintain normal blood sugar levels and a calm mind.*
